Lymphatic & Glymphatic Systems
The body's drainage, immune-transport, and brain-cleaning network
◂ Back to Healthy · Healthy Evidence Vault
Part of the Human Biology & Health Technology Encyclopedia beneath the Health Operating System. Each entry answers the same questions: how it works, what goes wrong, how we monitor and model it, how we prevent/repair/regenerate/replace, and who is building the technology.
How it works
The lymphatic system drains tissue fluid, transports immune cells, absorbs fats, filters pathogens, and helps resolve inflammation. The glymphatic system clears waste from the brain, largely during sleep.
What goes wrong
Lymphedema, poor immune drainage, chronic inflammation, cancer spread through lymph nodes, infection, swelling, impaired healing, and impaired brain waste clearance.
How we monitor it
Lymph imaging, MRI, near-infrared fluorescence imaging, swelling measurement, immune markers, sleep studies, brain imaging, and cancer staging.
How we prevent, repair, regenerate & replace
Compression therapy, lymphatic massage, exercise, microsurgical lymphatic repair, cancer lymph-node management, anti-inflammatory therapy, sleep optimization, and glymphatic and regenerative lymphatic research.
Who is building this
Cited as evidence the capability is real — not as partners or endorsers: NIH, major cancer centers, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Harvard, lymphedema clinics, and neuroscience/sleep research groups.
*Each capability above maps to one of six actions: Prevent · Restore · Repair · Regenerate · Replace · Optimize. This is the “who is doing what, and what kind of fix it is” layer.*
How it connects to the Health Operating System
This system is one domain of the larger loop: map the body → sense deviation → model the state → predict consequence → deliver intervention → regulate feedback → repair, regenerate, or replace → verify → adapt. The goal is to move intervention earlier in time — detecting and correcting problems in this system before they become severe.
Honest boundary: the building blocks above are real and operating in partial form. Free Safe Healthy does not claim this system is fully solved or that all of its diseases are cured. The mission is to organize these capabilities into one lawful, rights-protected system that prevents disease earlier, repairs and regenerates faster, and cures more wherever science allows. AI supports human clinicians; it never replaces them.
